As we read about Jesus’s journey to Jerusalem in the Gospel of Luke, we reflect on what it means for Jesus to lead us through death itself and come out victorious. In Luke 13, Jesus mourns Jerusalem, the city which kills the prophets. Though he is warned that his own life is in danger, he continues on his mission even as it will cost him his life.
